Taking a Fresh Look at Garage Lighting

The garage is a commonly used space, and many people use their garages for storage or workshops; with this increase in popularity, though, there’s an even greater need to make sure that your lighting stays on point.

With the increased use of our garages, it’s more important than ever to have great lighting in here. Here are some tips on how you can keep your garage well-lit so that all needs for storage and artistry will be met.

Choose the lights based on their functions

Let’s discuss the lighting categories.

Ambient lighting - It generally includes garage door openers with in-built lights and LED garage lighting fixtures that can be installed on the ceiling.

Task lighting - Light fixtures attached with wires and hooks so that you can move as per your requirements. The light fixtures hang from the ceiling with the help of chains.

Accent lighting - This segment includes LED pendant lights that remain extended from the ceiling and LED wall sconces affixed to the wall. It looks great on either side of the garage.

Measurement of the garage space

The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) handbook already mentions 50 lumens (a measure of brightness) per square foot for residential garages.

300 lumens is outstanding for task lighting and 75 lumens for accent lighting. The lights are meant to distribute adequate illumination to the given area.

Appropriate lighting

Multiply the lumens by the square footage of the given area to figure out how many lamps are required to illuminate the provided space.

LED garage lighting is the best option available for your garage space as it withstands extreme weather conditions and can last 4 times longer than conventional lights.

You can also install motion sensors with LED garage lights to increase lumen efficiency and keep your vehicle safe and secured.

How do LED Parking Lot Lights Affect Energy Consumption and Cost?

The quality of parking lot lights is a vital consideration for every business owner from a safety perspective. Regarding quality performance, LED parking lot lights are one of the most successful and popular lighting fixtures in the industry. Whether in terms of high-quality lighting or long lifespan, the LEDs can stand in the top position. A well-lit parking lot will help pedestrians and drivers navigate comfortably. Along with this, it will effectively decrease the chances of criminal intrusion in the parking lot. One of the significant concerns about lighting a parking lot is energy consumption and cost, which will discuss in this blog. How LED Parking Lot Lights Improve Energy Conservation? LED technology has completely transformed interior and exterior lighting. With an extensive range of lighting fixtures, advanced lighting technology brings a new and unique experience. Along with this, the way of consuming electricity during brightness emission is highly efficient. Well, some k...

LED Tubes: Advantages of LED T8 Light Solutions

Since the launch of LED technology,  The new generation of T8 LED tubes delivers optimum brightness at low power consumption. These tubes are divided into three types. Type A: Ballast Compatible Type B: Not compatible with the ballast  Type A + B: Can work with or without the help of ballast The ballast section controls energy distribution to ensure that the required voltage, current, and waveform are present when a traditional light source like the fluorescent tubes or HID lamps is turned on and operated.  T8 LED bulbs do not require this additional electricity consumption; therefore, eliminating the ballast saves you energy right away because you aren't wasting energy to ballast draw. Each modified fixture uses a few watts less without a ballast. T8 retrofits assist the older fixtures by using the ballast feature to control power consumption and distribute uniform brightness. Usually, the use of ballast has lowered down, giving way to new generation T8 LED tubes. ...
