  Selecting the right replacement for old inefficient lighting fluorescent lighting fixtures is important. The selection of the product happens after the right installation is determined. The method of installation is basically determined by the types of tube technology you use. There are two tube technologies actually; T8 or T12. If you do not know what you have installed already, take the tube/bulb out and read the markings on the end. If you do not see the markings, get a scale and try to measure the diameter of the tube.
