Security Lights - A Few Things To Consider

Security lighting requirements can not be underrated or underestimated. We do not realize the importance of security lighting until we face the consequence of not having it. There is a reason why business owners own security light.

Security lightings are accompanied by many other features that make the security more robust.

If you use LED as the security lighting, you will reap a lot of advantages beyond security concerns.

Reasons That You Need Security Lighting

Having security lights is not about protecting your homes or business complexes is just not to stop intrusions. It is much more than that. Accidental injury is also one of the biggest causes of death around the world and the states.

If you look carefully at the stats, you will find no reason not to install the LED security lights. Ignorance had been prevalent in the choices we make for security. Awareness needs to be taught.

Backyards, pathways, backyards, and pathways all are possible accidental spots.

Having a clearer understanding of your lighting needs is important.

If you choose LEDs over halides, you will reap benefits in the long term.

Take the example of LED wall packs. They have the following advantages over HIDs-

Cost Savings

Conventional wall packs used as security lightings range from 70 watts to 400 watts. Typical wattages range from 24 watts to 82 watts. See the difference! This is an average saving of at least 50%.

If you translate these energy savings in money, you are saving 300$ per year with each LED fixture.

More Integrations

With LED wall packs, photocells(dusk to dawn sensors) can also be attached. With the usage of dusk to dawn sensors, power consumption can be optimized further. When the sun comes up, the sensors switch the lights off, and when it gets dark, it turns the lights off.

Maintenance Cost Reduction

Old halide wall packs require a lot of maintenance, contrary to LED security lightings. Old lighting fixtures warm up first, which is a wear and tear mechanism. LED security lightings such as LED wall packs and floodlights ask more than 50,000 hours.

By converting any HID wall pack fixture to LED wall packs, one can save up to 20 times more in maintenance for three years.

Low Glare And Better Colors

LED lights are not free of glare, but they cause the least amount of it for sure. LED lights have low glare, and that also helps in increasing the degree of safety. These lights, when used as street lights, help pedestrians and drivers navigate their ways safely in the night.
